Celebrating their 30th and final concert season, Goldner String Quartet will embark on a tour of NSW’s South Coast this September. Sharing their Innermost Thoughts, Goldner String Quartet will perform a thought-provoking program featuring compositions by Mozart, Shostakovich, and Schubert, giving audiences an insight into the intimate thoughts of some of the greatest minds in history.

Supporting this tour is Music in the Regions, who, across their three years of operations have made a mark on regional NSW, successfully touring world class classical music from Nundle to Deniliquin. This tour comprises of two return visits for the organisation, to Moruya and Wolumla, in addition to three new locations, Kangaroo Valley, Barragga Bay, and Delegate. This tour is at the core of Music in the Regions’ mission; to create greater cultural opportunities close to home, for the 3 million people living outside the metropolitan areas.

Music in the Regions General Manager and Producer, Marika Nordquist, said:  “Music in the Regions is thrilled to be touring with the Goldner String Quartet in their final months as one of Australia’s pre-eminent musical ensembles, bringing their exceptional artistry to a wonderful mix of regional locations. Being a Far South Coast local myself, I am looking forward to returning to familiar partners, as well as discovering new regional locations and communities with whom to share this special program.”

Earning an international reputation over their 30 years as an ensemble, Goldner String Quartet comprises of all original members and is favourably compared with the best quartets in the world. With performances in the UK, Europe, Asia, and the USA, the ensemble has decided to complete their musical journey back home in Australia.

Dimity Hall from Golder String Quartet said: “The Goldners are looking forward to performing for NSW regional audiences as we celebrate our 30th and final season. It will be fabulous to share the impact of this program with audiences in intimate surroundings, where the energy and emotion of the music is immediate and palpable. Composers often express their most personal thoughts in their works for string quartet and this program of Mozart, Shostakovich and Schubert quartets is no exception. Join us for melodious performances with plenty of dramatic contrasts along the way, of pure joy and heart-wrenching sorrow, in some of the best-loved string quartets ever written.”
